@kovidgoyal: Guess that's where we're different - I like to be able to visualize the structure before tinkering with it. Outliners, desktop wikis and the like are popular, because they show things in a structured and - to my mind - orderly way, while this - still: to my mind - is messy and jumbled.
@AnotherCat: This is not about the merge plugin, the two images I uploaded are just samples. Of course other files may have other virtues/problems. The thing for me is to be able to view things in a structured way. (Isn't that what xml is all about ![]() Regards, Kim |

And I was telling you how it has structure, namely the spine ordering and that furthermore you can easily replicate the folder structure by simply giving the files appropriate prefixes using the bulk rename tool.

I am also more of a Visualizer, but I am also a Mechanic.
I use the Visual side(s) to locate where I need/want to work then switch to the code to do most of it where I get the fine control. Wordstar(DOS) with its dot codes never posed any problem for me. I could see 'Ceneterd Paragraph here' just fine. |

(Isn't that what xml is all about ![]() [/QUOTE] You stated as your example "The file is a merge of five books to one, using Calibres plugin to merge epubs." which I assumed meant you were referring to the epubmerge plugin. For my own contribution I just continued using it as an example. Sorry if you feel that I confused things as apparently I was incorrect in my assumption. A little off topic, but I would be interested in the plugin other than epubmerge that you used to merge the files as it may be better than epubmerge. Thanks. |
