I've read about 80, heavily weighted away from Litfic and towards popular fiction. Most of the others I have not the slightest inclination to read. I don't see why I must read them. Nor even why I should.

Interesting to see Max Havelaar on the list: nonfiction, and it made real change happen.

There is of course a strong English Language bias--this is predominantly an English language forum after all--and a very strong bias towards the trendier highbrow material.

On the whole, I think I'd rather read Hiassen's "Stormy Weather" again than read Nabakov's "Pale Fire" again.

You could have a wonderful time debating the ones NOT in the list.

I've read about 90. Many books on the list were totally unfamiliar, many others I've heard of but have no desire to read. Not impressed; don't need to add these titles to my bucket list.

I read a pretty good number, but I studied English, and I have to admit I read many of them in high school or college. Not very many in the 25 years since.
