One thing to consider is that the Aura has so many more options for text adjustment than the Kindle. At first the text might seem faded but you just go in to advanced adjustments and adjust the weight and sharpness and voila the text becomes just as crisp as the Paperwhite 2. Add to that the margin, line and justification adjustments you can do and you'll have to admit that Kobo is just a more versatile Reader, textwise.

Although I like the form factor of the paperwhite, one thing that has me hesitant to buy it ,is the large number of reviews (on Amazon) by people saying that they are getting no where near the battery life they should (some say like 6-8 hours) and that's with wifi off and light not on the brightest setting. Any comments?

I read on mine for a couple of hours a day, and recharge perhaps once every two weeks, so I reckon I'm getting at least Amazon's claimed 28h battery life.

I played about with the light a lot the first week I got my PW, used it as normal after that (light mostly set at 6 or below, wi-fi off & a very rough average of 1 hour per day reading) and it was 3 weeks before I needed to charge it. I've been using it for another week since and the battery indicator is only showing a small drop from full.

If anyone is reading for an hour a day and it only lasts about a week, I'd be returning it to Amazon and asking for a replacement.

Yep this is a definite advantage that all the Kobo's have. If you are the type of person who likes their books to look a certain way, the Aura is more versatile.
