Are you sure about that? I just tried it (again) and it did not work. It never has displayed annotations for personal documents, as far as I know: there has to be an association with a Kindle Store item.

Yes, the notes for personal docs are backed up/synced but they don't show up there.

Ok, a simple copy-paste of my-clippings does not do anything.
And I do not want to use Amazon.

Any more suggestions?
I am afraid I will have to add all bookmarks again (I think highlights are better suited for this).

This doesn't work for me. I use the Send to Kindle app and none of the highlights I create are synced. Progress, yes, but not highlights. I called Amazon and they told me the same.

Syncing of highlights works for me though, unless they changed that very recently, which would be annoying...
