It's a little optimistic to expect them to be fixed in such a short timescale, but it you buy the book (from Amazon, at least) and it's subsequently updated, you can simply re-download the revised version. Does the lack of a space after an italic really make the book unreadable for you?

Some books that have a lot of italics like the Forever War look dreadful and are somewhat harder to read too. I'm a bit fussy about formatting admittedly as I don't want my ebooks to deviate to much from how the printed books look. I'm not sure if Kobo books are ever updated with new versions after you buy.

I downloaded the Adobe DRM Epub and it displays perfectly in Adobe Digital Editions so the problem is definitely with the Kepub.

I'm still looking for e-book editions of works by my late friend, the perilously underrated Thom Disch. Sadly, SF Gateway didn't have anything beyond Disch's contribution to Again, Dangerous Visions.
I agree. I'd like some of his works in e-book format myself...

This applies to Kobo's store in the UK and Ireland too so you can simply change your country in the my account page and pay with paypal (in Euro or Sterling) for all those not fortunate enough to be resident in these islands.
So you are saying I can set up a Kobo account (without a Kobo reader) and download to a US PC?

If that's the case there wouldn't seem to be a problem - just download the ePub version.

I like to use the Kobo cloud and the features you get with kepub to read books, I probably wouldn't buy from them without these features.

Yes, there are no geographic restrictions on the Kobo site. You just need to use Paypal because the credit card must match the region you are shopping in.

There are geographic restrictions on the Kobo site. They're just not very strictly enforced (at present).

It's so easy to buy books from other regions that the restrictions might as well not exist.

But you are correct, technically there are restrictions but they are trivial to circumvent and Kobo does not seem to restrict your library to books from a single region.

Liking SF Gateway since they're publishing definitive editions of Michael Moorcock's back catalog. I have to "travel" to the UK to get them, but most aren't currently available from a US publisher.

I've never quite been able to get into those, but I'll buy them as ebooks when they come out and give them another try.

Speaking of, on December 19, Gateway released the entire Hawkmoon series and the second Corum trilogy (the first trilogy had been released a couple of months ago). Unfortunately, Kobo is missing the last book in both the second Hawkmoon and Corum trilogies.
