Another review that leaves a lot be desired. Why would the reviewer assume that just because the demo model that isn't meant to be used as a full device doesn't have the actual software that they only have hardware and no software to back it up? No reason to think that it isn't equally possible that they have workable software near ready (but not show ready) so they didn't bother putting it on the device in case it gets lost/stolen.
Not sure I'd want the device, but I think it has a lot of potential in at least a few niches. The video did a nice job of showing how this is would get used in the real world.

The new date for Germany (and probably Europe as well) will be August 2014 and the device will cost around 800 Euro.

So no information for the US release.

800 Euros seems kind of high for non CAD use sadly.

I am going to suggest CAD reader to my wife who is an architect but I doubt she will bite...

800 Euro is not cheap but think about all the documents you could read on it.

Oh, I am thinking about it. Still, about 500-600 Euros is my pain point.

Hopefully upcoming Onyx 13 incher is closer to my budget.

Two more articles. Much of the same information that we've seen in previous reviews.

Review in Spanish
- Quoting price of 400, but no idea if that's USD

Review in Italian

Like Begemot, I guess it's still a (slow) race between this and the upcoming Onyx (M95? M96? Both?)

- The price comes in "dólares", which is USD, yes. However, it doesn't refer from where the information came.

- I think that, for a 13.3'', Sony is pretty solid. Lighter and more dedicated to study and business environment. They even released a software update a couple of weeks ago for DPT-S1 , making the writing more responsive, improving the display and reducing the battery drain. The only thing that kills it, is the price. But if CAD reader will cost 800 euros, that's about the same. If it costs 400 USD, I will think twice.

Reagarding M95/M96, I will rethink my choice for a large display e-reader if they could incorporate front-light in any of those 9.7'' e-readers. That would be a great device, with stylus input, front-light, fair screen size (not small), portable and versatile reading capabilities (I mean, different types of ebooks, not just PDF's, which is not the most important for me, but it's always a plus).

both articles must come from the same press release/source, as they both quote a weight of 60g The Italian reviewer goes further, noting that this would be less than the weight of an ereader. How they could think that a 13" slate could weigh less than two small bags of crisps defeats me

At first it would be enough if I could buy one of these devices in Europe.
