Well, no. My Cybook arrived 5 November.

Okay... Pickety-pickety. My point is still valid. It's not as if any of these units have been around for years and years, with lots of firmware updates. When Bookeen gets to the Model-T or later equivalent unit, then I'd expect perfection from the very first unit rolling off the assembly line.

Pickety? Sorry, I have a respect for fact and I get irritated when people write things that are wrong or misleading. I do not want to have to correct things so the best thing is if people do not write things as certain facts when they maybe are guessing.

Less-than-precise? Certainly. Deliberately *wrong* or *misleading*? Not the case. But what gets me is your insistence upon picking at the minor detail of November 5th versus mid-to-late November availability as if that was far more important than the concept that the Cybook is (still) in it's infancy.

Yes. THAT is picky!!!

I have not said anything about the importance. I quoted part of the messages and I only commented that part. I know from other forum and similar places that people have trouble to see that you actually can comment on part of what is said without saying anything else about the whole text. I often comment on just parts and I think that people should be able to realize that it is the quoted thing that is commented.

So did you misremmber? That is the only explanation I can see for the certainty in you statement. if you did not remember it exactly there was no reason to claim it the way you did.

Oy! My! Vey! I made a generic statement about the release time of the commercial version of the Cybook. And because it didn't match up to the day of your receipt of your unit, (Would you care to also specify the exact hour, minute and second so we can all be "exact" in our references henceforth?) you've chosen to concentrate your reply upon that difference - instead of addressing the greater issue, which is that this is like unto a Ford Model A while you expect the features, completeness and benefits of a modern Ford Mustang.

Okay, so you can get past this, yes the Cybook was released, commercially, on or about November 5th.

Probably took two or three weeks to get to the New World, i.e would be late November for us (US?).

With a BANG! I hope.

(For non-British list members - the 5th of November is the day, "Guy Fawkes Day", that we have bonfires and fireworks to celebrate the confounding of Guy Fawkes' "Gunpowder Plot" to blow up King James I during the opening of Parliament in 1605.)
