There are thousands of ways to improve the current library browsing and management. I just hope Kobo just keep updating the software while adding some of them... and without removing/breaking any of the current ones even if they think them obsolete or deprecated.

So I'd end up searching the author listing to get the same results I'd get by searching the library listing.

If someone proposed a search within search results, that would capture my attention.

As for the slider, I can't be the only person who remembers how inaccurate it could be? Lifting your finger and having it jump 5 pages? The trick of rolling your finger to give more accurate results?

And here I thought you meant the slider a handy feature

I've removed an unnecessary comment from a previous message and am using this space to apologize to François for that comment.

Hi,

@David DNSB: Apology fully accepted... and of course, your argumentation about the number of people concerned by most of my requests is right

About the binary management of pages in collections and in library, I do use it. I still consider that guessing how many pages for Victor Hugo, Emile Zola, Proust... is unnecessary, and should be replaced by an author management system.

Of course, the discussion on this matter shows that:
  1. the level of priority for this feature is not shared, even among advanced users
  2. the replacement / improvement system is not clear.

The same applies to the multiple collections filter.

Impossible then to express a definite request to Kobo's as to what could be commonly expected for future development by a set of users from this forum.

No consensus achieved... and therefore not many expectations to see the requests taken into account.

At least some views tend to agree that some improvement could be achieved.

Regards

François

what is most annoying to me is that kobo does not have categories for document types that you sideload. if you sideload a bunch of text files (personal notes) and image files for instance, they are all treated like books. text i can understand, but lumping in image files is just confusing. at the very least, they could designate a directory for storing image files and one for personal documents (not books). then when accessing the images, for instance, you would be able to swipe left-right to get to all the images at once. right now, treated as a "book", you have to close the current image in order to open another image, just like you would a book. and though you can't just swipe to get to the next personal document, separating personal documents from books just helps sort out your library.
