			I was in the berthing compartment of a refitted WWII submarine, USS Chivo, SS-341. That area was commonly referred to as “Hogan’s Alley” because it smelled like Hogan’s goat.  I had just gotten out of my bunk which was the top one of a stack of four, and situated directly under the diving alarm, so every time the boat would dive or surface I’d be sure to be awake for it. |

			To the best of my knowledge there has been no birthing on a US Navy submarine. Although as I recall “Operation Petticoat”, I could be wrong. Berth. Last edited by wodin; 11-25-2013 at 07:44 PM. |
