Thought so
I thought that might be the case, so I made a collection folder called "1 Edit Metadata."
Then, it's at the top of the folders list, and I can just check the books in it when I'm at my PC, and remove them after I do any edits and update the files. Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Sablerose ![]() |

Hello Kguil
sorry do be a nag, but even as Marvin is the best reading apps for IPAD i know, i am still hoping to convince you to integrate a one tap solution to show the summery of a book on the library view ( as you have already done on the calibre import view) another request: I would really like to import my library with the date I added the books to calibre, as i am using calibre a lot longer than Marvin, the majority of my books are imo ported with the date i installed marvin. Is there already a way to do this. Thanks and wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year Thomas |

@thomasmorus - I'm not sure how I can go about doing this without involving a tappable button for each book row (that would take display space). Obviously, the tap gesture is reserved to open the book.
Regarding the calibre date, I don't think it is transferred over into the metadata of the book so Marvin cannot see it. |

Here's an idea based on how one of my music apps works. What if tapping the cover opened the book, and tapping the book info (or title) opened the metadata. It would be good if there was also an open book button within the metadata screen so if you decide to read it, you can open the book right there. |

I think that the general expectation is tapping a row and opening a book (like most other apps) and the book cover is too small a tap target for what would be the main use case - opening the book.

Do the opposite: Tapping the cover shows the metadata. Anywhere else, the book is opened.

Ah so you don't like small tap targets either ey
![]() in that case, how's the vertical popup menu coming along ? ![]() Personally I can live with a swipe-tap, it's not an action you do everyday There are however alternatives to adding a button or splitting rows into tapabble sections Kris? what about right-swipe? we have left-swipe to show the book options menu but right-swipe is still unused. That would leave the tap to activate on the full row. Alternatively you also have the long-press option. A setting to allow me to always go to the library when hitting home inside a book would be more my cup of tea, but hey, we can't have everything we want or the screen would be filled with direct access buttons (as many readers as many tastes and wishes) |

@At_Libitum - Yeah, right swipe is what I was thinking about. "in that case, how's the vertical popup menu coming along" - it's gonna take a bit. I've got the feature list for the next 3-4 updates already mapped out. I haven't forgotten about it though.

Hi KGuil and collegues
First a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you! Yes both options mentioned are very ok with me! I had the cover tap with Stanza, worked perfectly (taping the cover in the library view showed the meta data, tap somewehre else opend the book), the right sweep would also be ok. What I do not understand is that you already have the one hit metadata view on the calibre import screen, you could also use the same function in the library view. I think most users would only need the summery section of the metadata for a short information about the book, not the full metadata view (for me the data shown on the calibre import view is more then enough - just like reading the backside of a book bevor purhaing/reading it). Thanks for deveolping such an awsome Reader/libray apps Best Regards Thomas |
