@Waflicka, you can also try signing up at http://www.bookgorilla.com, to get a daily email digest of free and discounted Kindle-only (but then, you have a Kindle so it's all right) books, many of which are from bestselling authors.

I once got The Da Vinci Code for free, although that is the only time I remember seeing a bestseller for free -- usually they are 66% off or something.

Many of their books aren't bestsellers but are still quite good, which is all that really matters, other than the fact that many of these are actually FREE free free!!!!

That didn't work for me at all. There wasn't anything containing "Recommended" on the entire page. But after some searching and random browsing I came across http://www.kobo.com/free-ebooks but everything from there says it's not available in my region!
