WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!!! So you bought a Sony T3 with NO back! I mean, it has a back but not the cover and the back isn't exposed???? Mine has the cover and it's ok but I'd prefer no cover but do want a back.

Possibly you could get one from someone who has bought one with the intention of buying a lighted cover. Or sell yours and rebuy as they are $99 with out cover so you might even make a dollar or two.
