That's a hard number to come up with given my small sample set of keeping track. I've tried to put all of the books I can remember since university days into GoodReads and that is 419 over about 25 years which is about 17 books a year, but the data since I've been on MobileRead and GoodReads and keeping track is:

2011: 52 books
2012: 83 books
2013: 63 books and counting

I think a number around 26 is probably realistic. A book every two weeks, depending on length and type of book.

I'd estimate an average of 120. It's been more in recent years (170 last year, but lots of short-ish books - YA in the 300 page range) but it's what I've set myself as a reading challenge for the last few years as it's beatable while not overly easy.

I'm at 117 books this year, but that includes about a dozen short stories (released and read separately, so counted separately) and the entire A Series of Unfortunate Events, most of which are very short books. On the other hand, it also includes books such as Great North Road (~1000 pages in paper) and a number of 500-600 page books (in print length), so I don't feel too bad about all those short ones.

Sure. Why not. I do. It's still words on a page, whether you read them or someone else reads them to you. You're still consuming the story.

Over the past three years of careful record keeping, I've been pretty solid at between 75-80 books a year. I'm currently at 72.

Not my thread but I'd say consuming a book on audio is "close enough for government work".

Me, at the low end I do a book a week, at the high end a book a day.
(Not counting comic books, though.)

Oh my yes! In my opinion anyway. I sure count the audio books I have listened to in my completed list. Some months I read more ebooks others I 'read' more audiobooks, but always they are marked as read in Calibre.

This year, I'll read about 30 books, but they range from short stories of 50 pages to books that are 1200+ pages long.
