Marco, I'm all for it if it can be done!

I was simply quoting from the dict.cc lincence terms whose link you provided. If you believe that those licence terms are compatible with the use of dict.cc datasets directly within Marvin, then that's wonderful!

As mentioned earlier, I agree with you and I'd be interested to learn if Kris was willing to develop an "empty interface" for dictionaries for us, and allow us to customise the display of dictionary definitions/translations (pop-up bubble yes or no; split-screen at bottom or top yes or no; etc.).

In the meantime, Paul of dict.cc replied to me that as of now, no URL launch scheme for the dict.cc app is available, but that he intends to make it available later on.

I have also written to ABBYY, asking them to implement a x-callback button in the Lingvo app. No reply from them thus far, and that's a pretty long shot, anyway.

PS: I'd pay the $20 for the functionality, too.

Hi Faterson

Because of the Licensing therms i wrote today a mail to paul. Waiting for response. But i think that i am right since the dicts already exists for the Dictionary.app in iOS.
However now we have $40 ;-), for the Work i put $100 on top. I know that is a bad salary per hour but maybe a funny beer evening in your favorit pub. Send me an paypal link Kris... no joke. marco.berger@assentis.com

I absolutely agree it would be delightful to have that functionality in Marvin.

On the Qestion:

Is the use of your dictionary databases ok when every single user is downloading the Dictionarys from here:

http://www1.dict.cc/translation_file_request.php?l=d

and convert it by them selfs and uploadet it to marvin.

Mail conversation (in German) by me, can send copy when needet.

That's great!

Then Marvin could include the dict.cc links (and similar ones) directly within the (new) internal dictionary interface, to send users to dict.cc and other dictionary download sites, just like today Marvin already offers presets leading to online dictionary sites.
