BEATS TESCO AND ARGOS. http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/1246...hone-warehouse Carphone Warehouse has slashed the price of its Avoca 7 Android tablet to £49, leading the UK retailer to claim it is the lowest-priced tablet. Described as "family-friendly", the 7-inch tablet comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, access to the Google Play store and the hundreds of thousands of apps and media content on offer there. It has a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, and a screen resolution of 800 x 480. There’s a front-facing 0.3-megapixel camera but no rear, and there is 8GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot for expansion by up to a further 32GB. The battery is 3,000mAh with claims that it will last from 3.5 hours with heavy use up to 8 hours. Dimensions are 192 x 117 x 10.7mm and it weighs 350g. Only one colour option is available – black front, white back - and it is Wi-Fi-only. You can find out more and buy the cheap-as-chips entry-level tablet from the Carphone Warehouse website. It is usually priced at £99, so will be available at £49 only while stocks last. |

Is Avoca their own brand? I didn't realise that. |

Yes, sorry, that was in headlinese.
The Tesco hudl seems to be quite hard to get hold of at the moment. When I looked at the Tesco Direct site yesterday, they were only showing one of the colours available (black) and 14 days for delivery. I was also kind of interested in Tesco's deal on the Asus Memopad (£79), but my local store didn't have any of those, either. I expect I'll get distracted by something else soon and just not buy anything. |
