Kaysclie, that is just awful. Definitely, you should make a stink at the post office about it. File a formal report and take pictures of the envelope before you give it to them.

I would also call Newegg just to let them know about it. They may do something for you -- like give you a rain check or something. Obviously, even if they sent you another one, there is no time for you to return the rebate by the deadline, so hopefully they will compensate you on that too. But definitely let Newegg know that either DHL or the USPS stole merchandise.

Good luck and let us know if you get any relief on this theft.

For anyone who got this micro sd card, the card reader that came with it is really hard to figure out. I stuck the card in there but could not see a way to get it out. So I took a fine point pair of tweezers and pried it out. Lucky the card didn't break.

Then I went on Adata's website and looked up the card reader. I was surprised to see that you merely had to push in on the opposite end to move the card out of the slot! That's the end where the flashing blue light is, so it's not apparent at all that this part is movable.

I just wanted to pass this on in case someone else finds themselves similarly baffled.

If you guys paid with a credit card, you might have buyer's protection through that as well, that will reimburse you for the costs.

Yes that was deliberate tampering. My SIL sent me a thumb drive that got stolen that way. But it wasn't in a padded envelope. But it was definitely sliced. We suspect her post office. Hope the person enjoyed their ill gotten 2gb blank drive.

I received a damaged package from Amazon. One corner of the box was crushed and then re-taped. It contained small speakers, cables, and an OtterBox case for a Fire HD.

Unfortunately, one of the speakers was missing and the OtterBox package was opened and then closed back, but not enough to hide the obvious tampering. I bet someone was looking for a tablet and was disappointed not to find one.

Anyway, I called Amazon and reported the damaged box, the stolen speaker, and the tampered Otterbox packaging. They rushed out a new speaker. Not sure what they did to UPS.

Great customer service on the part of Amazon

I am hoping that NewEgg has customer service on par with Amazon. I called NewEgg this morning and reported what had happened. The representative that I spoke with put in a claim for me which has to be reviewed. ..reviews take a few days to process. If they approve my claim, they will send me a replacement.
Unfortunately I will lose the rebate offer even if my claim is approved. But at this point I will be grateful just to get the 32gb sdhc card in my hands.

Not necessarily. The order was placed in the necessary time frame, and you have until November 11 to mail in the rebate form, so you may still be able to get the $10.

I appreciate that you posted this. I wasn't baffled, but that is mostly because I read your useful tidbit before my SD card arrived.
