Have you tried NCIS? That's a series the wife and I both enjoy greatly.

It manages to be dramatic, funny, clever and intelligent all at the same time. Oh, and it doesn't take itself too seriously: there's a running joke for the whole first season (maybe part of the second) about how they're not CSI and how they have so many letters.

These days BBC Parliament is about the only channel worth watching - and it won't be long before that's all jerky camera work, disco lighting and pro-celebrity debates

Abby is the best part of the whole show, you never know what the gal is gonna do next. I'm not sure that she's my favorite character, though. It's between her and Ducky for me.

The good news her ein the USA is we just got SciFi in HD and this coming Friday we get the first episode of the new season of Dr. Who starting with the Christmas special. And we are also getting the Sara Jane Chronicles and BBC America are keeping up with Torchwood pretty good.
