If all you care about is updating a directory against a master server, rsync can also do the job, with much less complexity

Git..
Think it works. EDIT: With caveats: see https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...0&postcount=24 if it moans about missing an executable or two for your favourite function... Last edited by twobob; 09-29-2013 at 07:24 AM. |

The deps on debian look a bit scary.

It Kinda works, (no https or ssh+git, only git://) but after the clone, git complains about git-merge not being present. I put all the libexec stuff in my path, but no avail.

okay.
well you can just copy the file /extensions/git/usr/libexec/git-core/git and call it git-merge. (screenie attached - you can see they are all the same file) disappointing that git uses some of those names internally, the implication was in the support threads that git merely used the location as an old, additional support backup... (I link to the msysgit project as the FAT storage effectively puts in the world of windows) perhaps I could go with an ext3 loop as was my original vision... I personally think I would fix this on my own machine with an "alias" but a hard copy would have just the same effect. rsync.. pretty certain I already did that. will nose around and ctorrent... and here is the monster sized GIT, should you fancy taming the beast yourself. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...DUMMY.-hugezip Last edited by twobob; 09-29-2013 at 07:23 AM. |
