They are talking about a different set of stats. If you read a kepub, you get in book stats. This has things like how long to finish the chapter, how long for the next chapter and a bar chart showing the length of the chapters.

But, I agree with you about the other stats and have good news. If you add the following lines to your "Kobo eReader.conf" file, you will have a option on the book menu in the list to display the stats.

Code:
[FeatureSettings]
BookSpecificStats=true

No, the covers are still not cached. If you use calibre to send the covers to the device, they will be used.

I didn't even think of that, but it would look more natural.

In my limited testing, the pocket integration works quite well.

What are the files in the stacks directory for?

Some test images look better now.

Reading statistics seem to available from within an ebook only for .kepubs but I never look at them anyways so not a big deal for me. You can still find them for the current active book by tapping on extras/reading stats on the home page.

I do like the return of the return to previous whatever from within a book.
Yes, very good for going back to a shelf if you want to go through a few books quickly.

I think you have everything except a new game. But, that might just be new to the Glo.

I don't know what is going on with the stats. Kobo may not have reached a final decision about that.

I do know that they decided not to have the stats for sideloaded epubs at a time when the kobo extended driver either wasn't around or wasn't widely used. I also know that many people on MR have never wanted anything about books not purchased from kobo to contribute data to whatever it is that kobo collects. I do NOT know if putting epubs in kepub clothing did that.

Hmmmm.... my daughter thought it was very funny as well. Her teacher did not think it as funny when she said you could count past 10 on your fingers and demonstrated how to do so. We ended up in a parent teacher conference which didn't go very well. Shrug.

I've never taken the time to play with the games on my Aura HD. I vaguely remember Chess, Solitaire, Sudoku and Word Scramble being around for a while, not so sure about Unblock It.

Luckily, I never had that problem with my kids teachers.

In that case it is just Unblock It. It seems to be a good implementation of the game.

Sorry, there are no games. But there are black holes that suck your time down them. Time that should have been spent reading a good book. Or even a bad book.

The title is misleading. What if the stats aren't here on say 2.9.1 but come back on 2.9.2? The version number is known since it runs on the new Aura. Maybe it should be used.

Is there any way to get time (or even pages) left in chapter for a sideloaded ePub? Coming from a Paperwhite that had this information on sideloaded Mobis, I really miss it. I would rather not use kepubs because of the wasted space at the top of the screen.

Unfortunately no. The closest you can do is tap the middle to bring up the bottom bar. The tap the double ended arrow to show the navigation bar. Press the double right arrow to go to the next chapter. Note the page number and press the return arrow to go back to where you were. Now subtract the current page number from the one you noted above. There is no way to get the time left.

seems to work fine on my Aura HD.
Thanks for sharing David.

2.9.0 seems snapper to me. I vote pass.
