Dictionary app with Marvin - Page 2

Received this response from Merriam-Webster re. URL schemes.

The worst kind of response one can get from tech support.

I call it "the echo response": "Can you do X for me?" -- "No, we can't." No hint of a solution, no apparent desire to oblige the customer.

You can only draw your conclusions as to the provider of such services. I love the Merriam-Webster dictionary; it's the best American dictionary, for sure; but on the iPad/iPhone, the Dictionary.com app has served me well. Also, the newly added Oxford dictionaries are nice -- although Apple's implementation of them in iOS 7 makes them partly dysfunctional.

Yeah, I have that dictionary.com app too and it pronounces words. I'll see if I can find irs URL scheme. English is supposedly my native language but its USA Southern (red neck) English. I often need the pronounciation to help me.

Yes; the audio pronunciations are an important feature missing in iOS internal dictionaries. (Though the dead hyperlinks and the impossibility to search, or to define defining words, are even worse flaws.)

I was wondering about the URL scheme for the Dictionary.com app, too. Please let us know if you manage to discover it.
