Calibre Companion (CC) is an Android only app. It is well worth using. I have my entire library on my android tablet and manage it with CC. CC allows me to quickly find any book in my library and launch it in the Android reading app of my choice.

Truth be told I bought my first Nexus 7 in August of 2012 because chaley stated he was developing this app. chaley has done a lot of programing on calibre from his web site he outlines a few.

A few of my contributions are custom columns, nested user categories, quickview, most search features, the all-on-one-page metadata edit dialog, the calibre template language, metadata plugboards, many get-books stores in the EU, metadata search and replace, and many performance improvements.
Additionally he added the advanced features to the Sony device driver making metadata management automatic between calibre and the Sony PRS eink readers I was using. Because I was familiar with his work I knew that what he developed would be a perfect match for calibre.

For anyone using an Android device (phone or tablet) and calibre there isn't a better app out there to merge the two.
