The weight is a factor, I agree. The aura have LOTS of strong points. About the bugs, the AU review noted that most of them seemed to be ironed out for the Aura.

The first link below is to a youtube demo and review comparing the new Kobo Aura to the Kindle Paperwhite I. It is about 20 minutes long. I found it very helpful.
My understanding is that the new PW II will have a processor rated at the same speed as the new Aura, will have the latest e-ink which claims better contrast, a better touch screen, a few software tweaks, and an improved light. After watching the afore mentioned demo, for me, the Carta ink is the only thing that I would feel is missing from the Aura, but I doubt the improvement will be so discernible that I would regret going with the Kobo. It's not enough for me to want to buy into the Kindle world. The reports I've come across infer that other changes are minor. If that's true, this youtube demo should give a good idea of which product works for you while you keep in mind what the new PW will offer. Link to thorough look at Aura http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcC9BywDgYM Here's a link to the new PW on Amazon US http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AWH595M/ref=fs_cl |

You can now order the Aura via Chapters Indigo but you'll need a scan of your ID-card and credit card. Total cost for me was about 1200 Kr. read more about it here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=222041
As for for Elib, it's just about the only company that lends ebooks in Swedish to Public Libraries. I recommend going to you libraries website and seeing what the rules are. The amount of books you get to borrow per week varies between libraries. And if you like the old classics check out Litteraturbanken http://litteraturbanken.se/#!start and Project Gutenberg or even easier, my website :-) Quote:

Another thing that it's good to know is that Kobo's readers have more choices when it comes to layout and fonts than the Kindle.

The review is wrong however (unless something drastically changes) on searching. You can search your library from the home or in a book WITHOUT being connected to internet at all. And this search brings up a running list as you type (so if you type "L" everything starting will L will show, when you type LI everything with LI in the title will show). what do you mean you can't search from within the library?
(on the HD) I can tap the top wherever I am and the search bar comes down... no? |

I have been using a Sony PRS 505 for a long time now, and I am interested in a new reader with light. Lamplights can be really annoying and expensive (I have had a couple of them). I am trying to decide between the new Paperwhite and the new Kobo Aura. The Kobo Aura appears to be the best, but I have a big concern about it. In all the videos I have watched there is a huge amount of screen being wasted at the bottom of the page. I want to take advantage of all of the screen surface. Is there a way of formatting the books so that they occupy all of the screen?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paIAq...XhKIOwgsFssaTQ The fellow doing the vid asks for suggestions for reviews and comparisons, so perhaps you could put in a request. Here is yet another one that shows the new Aura and the Glo, focusing on the light. Short as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KytQI...XhKIOwgsFssaTQ Hope this is helpful to you. |
