What about the #1 reading location? I keep promising to build a stand for the bathroom.

Of course reading is a private activity - and there's no better way to keep your privacy on a bus than to read!

I have to admit that whenever somebody asks me about my Kobo, they don't have their e-reader with them

My previous post is ambiguous. i didn't mean to say that people who use trains here don't use ereaders. I meant that i don't use trains or buses, which i guess would have been simpler just to say in the first place.

I did use the bus frequently when i was an undergrad in Santa Cruz and never saw an ereader. But that would have been around the time ereaders were just taking off.

Amazon is soooo easy to use (for physical products) in Japan when you don't have a credit card! In comparison, try to do that in England or France
I don't what are the shares of Amazon vs. Rakuten on those kind of products, but I bet Japanese people used to go to Amazon to buy things before the launch of the Kindle.

I also agree with Canuck_in_Japan that a 5% gap between Amazon and Kobo is nothing to be ashamed of, yet it would look better for Kobo to be n°1 in the Rakuten country

I wouldn't be surprised if this was within the margin of error and they're pretty much dead even.

If KOBO don't get their trouble sorted, they might have the same faith as Sony Ericsson. Maybe it's just my imagination.
