Works fine on Windows 8 without messing with anything (obviously can't be activated anymore). I'm running it on my laptop (i7, 8GB RAM, Win 8.1 64bit) although I barely ever use it.

LIT converts to EPUB(2) very nicely in Calibre and does not have the horrible dangers to future conversion that PDF would.

TXT would also be a future proof format, but it lacks all style that we come to expect.

Boy does this bring back memories. I used LIT format for a long time. I loved it as a reader. However, I gave up and converted all my books to epub several years ago. Good Luck.

I loved it and used it back in the day, and still haven't given it up where I already have it. It is kind of hard to find new stuff these days.

I used to read .lit on my now ancient Casseiopia. I still have it but its dead, and no revival possible (I should recycle it somewhere) and I still have the books on a CD somewhere as well. They are likely never to see the light of day again
