Need help "authenticating" DX - Page 2

Well, maybe I'd be better served just selling it if it turns out not to be what I expect. I don't think I'd take much of a loss on it considering that I got it for a very low price. As it is, I'm cautiously optimistic about it taking into account the seller's description of the device as black with no wifi, only 3G. The only other Kindle models that don't have wifi but have 3G are the first two generations, and they are both white. I'll find out in a day or so, anyway.

The graphite [or black, but not really black] Kindle DX-G is 3g only, with no Wi-Fi.

It appears as if you're going to be getting the DX-G. The only issue is whether or not it was reported as stolen - IF if it was stolen - and there's no reason to believe that it was. Hopefully, all will be fine and you'll be able to register it.

I'm hoping it can be registered. I have no reason to think it won't be able to register, because the seller never mentioned anything about the 3G not working, or it being defective in any way, but there's no way to tell for sure until it arrives. Which will hopefully be soon. *fingers crossed*

EDIT: I've contacted the seller for more information, and it looks like it could arrive this Saturday at the earliest, and this Wednesday at the latest. I'll be sure to update everyone on the situation when it arrives.

UPDATE: When I contacted the seller about shipping, they happened to ask me if I knew of a way to de-register the device over the internet, since it had already been shipped. They also said they were leaving their books on the device. This leads me to believe that the Kindle actually belonged to the seller, and that it wasn't stolen.

It arrived today, and yes, it is a genuine DXG; it also registers fine.

Thanks. After playing with it for awhile, I've found that I really like the larger screen size. It took awhile to get used to it, but now I find I like the fact that I don't have to changes pages as often. It's also not as heavy as I thought it would be, which is good. I think it's a great device.
