Maybe they will come out with a backlit reader. That's what I'm waiting for.

I've been thinking of getting the paper white kindle.

My next reader will be one with a lighted background. Last month our power went out for 21 hours and wished I had one of those kindles that night.

If we can turn that off completely I'm fine with that. More important to me would be a higher Eink screen resolution.

You can use the Sony Reader Cover with Light if you need some light once in a while. It illuminate the screen of your Sony Reader with a protective cover that integrates a light for reading in the dark. I use it while reading on the balkony in the evening, for example. The battery lasts 20 hours, you could have read the entire time while your power went off, laughingdragons.

I know. I have been (not so) patiently waiting for news on Sony's new e-reader. If it is not backlit I will probably get Kobo's Aura HD.

It depends on how bright they are now. I had one for my Sony 300 and it wasn't that bright. 'For complete darkness I don't think it would have been good enough.

That's why I'd like to get a paper white for nights like that or on an airplane (I travel at night most of the time)

From what people on the Kobo forum have talked about, it has a really good screen/light. I get my books from everywhere so I don't worry about the book store as much

Finns prefer tablets to e-ink readers so Sony reader is practically the only one you can get over the counter (with the odd exception of some Bookeen devices).

I bought my Paperwhite (the non 3G model) from Amazon.com for about 110 €. Kobo Glo was 170 € and Aura 210 € at Play.com (UK), all prices include taxes and shipping. I found out (too late) that you can get Kobo Aura a bit cheaper from Fnac France - for 180 €.

The T2 has been my holy grail of e-readers all year long.
If the T3 is better than that, I can't wait to see what it is.

I now have a Samsung Tablet and a Nexus 4 phone (my very first cellphone EVER) and I have bought Moon Reader Pro and installed it on both of them happily so chances are I may skip buying whatever this release is, even if it is amazing.
