![]() Perfectly true. The problem tends to be that some people are more easily seduced than others, and those that are tend to see something new and it makes them yearn for those things that are better on the new reader and ignore the things that are actually better on their current reader, and so it goes on and on. I'm still sitting here with my Kindle 3, patiently waiting on a new reader with side page turn buttons and not just touch-screen only, with the ability to jump back/forward a chapter with a single click or swipe, and a lighted reader with as good contrast as my Kindle with the light off. I think I might be waiting an eternity and will probably end up being seduced by something shiny and new (but not quite perfect) anyway..... |

I take it that you haven't owned the Kindle Touch then. The PW's font is not finer, it's the exact opposite, it is thicker and bolder. I don't care which you like better, but please speak the truth and base your judgments on the truth.

I enjoyed the bold fonts a lot. they look creamy, almost crying: "eat me, eat me"

I actually owned the touch for about a 2 months before I got the paperwhite. I had all 3 models side by side at one point (keyboard, touch and paperwhite) and prefer the PW's font. I thought the font on the paperwhite was finer. Maybe it's the font that I use. We all have different eyes and will percieve things differently. I don't think there is a 'truth' here.

Of course there is truth. You have to compare with the same font. It is nonsense to say something like Baskerville on the PW is thinner than the font on the KT.

Why not provide screenshots (or camera pictures) to prove your point? As far as I see, everybody else is just making (knowingly) subjective comments, while you claim to be objective. I'm neither for nor against your claim, but if you are so very sure, you certainly can provide some evidence. There's a lot of space in this thread for your comparison pictures.

about fonts... I find it weird that to some files they don't allow font selection at all and what I get is a butt-ugly thin times new roman-lookalike. wtf? even with mobi ebooks from here I get to read in the delicious Cecilia Condensed, but not so in a free ebook from Amazon itself... weird...
