Merging Libraries with custom columns

No, it's not that simple. Sometimes the good metadata is in LibraryA, sometimes it's in LibraryB and sometimes it's in both. Obviously, for metadata like title or author, I must choose one or the other to be primary, but when a field is empty, I want to fill it from whichever has valid metadata, and when it's a field that allows multiple items, like tags or my custom #genre, or the comments/description field, I want to merge the two fields. That's how the Merge operation works, and I just want to replicate it in a Copy to Library operation. I'm perfectly happy to designate one or the other of the two libraries as the primary, as long as I can retain as much of the other metadata as possible.

that's what I thought from the early discussion. But something you wrote in a later post made me think - why can't he just marry the good metadata to the good formats. I think I've been reading too much about Good Banks and Bad Banks :lol:
