In other posts I wrote that 5.3.4 was an incremental, but I was looking at the wrong file when I wrote that. |

No, "Show Full Definition" button is gone in both 5.3.5 and 5.3.6.
However, if the definition is long and doesn't fit in the definition window, "Show Full Definition" appears back. I think pepe_alter_ego didn't mean the dynamic button which vanishes if the definition is short and so which is not always there. I don't remember how was it in 5.3.5 but there is a "Dictionary" option in the "More" menu having the same functionality as "Show Full Definition" button. Just one more click. Btw, I also need to jump to the dicitionary quickly, especially when I get "No definition found!" error. Last edited by sevenkul; 06-19-2013 at 07:35 AM. |

I looked up definitions of half a dozen words and the "Show Full Definition" button was always there. I can't explain the disparity between my experience and that of sevenkul.

If you are using some dictinary like Oxford American Dictionary or Longman Dictionary, it is hard to find a short definition that doesn't fill the box. I have a simple dictionary in which most of the definitions consist of a few words and "Show Full Definition" button doesn't appear at the bottom because the whole definition fits in the window. If the definition is long enough, then a scrollbar appear on the right and "Show Full Definition" appear at the bottom. There is no difference between 5.3.5 and 5.3.6 in this. However, in the previous versions, "Show Full Definition" button was always there.

The firmware upgrade says... "View full definition when looking up a word. When you look up a word in the dictionary, you can now view the full definition in the definition window." |

OMFG, this is the worst update than I've ever seen from Amazon.
After installing this, the screen started flashing all over the place. Not just on page refreshes while reading a book -- but even on selecting a menu entry. And now, this FW just totally crashed, and is apparently resetting all values to the defaults. I was re-asked to specify the language, and my registration information is gone as well. Calling this firmware a freaking mess is much too nice. |

On my Kpw, it was regularly reporting a batter over-temperature condition (at 29c - which is not an over-temperature condition) but not doing anything about it under version 5.3.3 So have they compounded the mis-calibrated temperature sensors with some temperature controlled mis-behaviors now? My Kindles (all of my electronics) live in a temperature controlled room (24c). A 20% error in the temperature sensor driver calibration. ==== Well, here is your chance to report if they fixed the "version test" to detect attempts to downgrade from 5.3.6 ![]() (Maybe the lab126 crew did the build while on one of those "developer road trips" that I posted elsewhere here.) |

Hi everybody!
Is there a way to change system fonts of the Duokan OS? Current fonts don't fully support Vietnamese yet, so when I browse to TOC, Bookmarks, Comments, Annotations, they don't display correct Vietnamese characters. ![]() ![]() |
