This add-on (different from the one mentioned previously) for Firefox does the specific thing under discussion here: it adds page flipping -- with forward and backward buttons, and an easily customized overlap between pages.

It bills itself thus: "Read your Firefox like a book! Adds side buttons to scroll pages with one click, just like on Kindle."

I've tested it, and it does exactly what the original poster wants in Firefox -- and I would certainly consider it a valuable tweak to the Kobo browser; I agree, scrolling is awful on E Ink screens:

Wow, after all this time! That's really cool. I've switched to Kindle in the meantime But I hope this still gets brought to e-ink devices somehow.
