Or take your plectrum
![]() Photos, anyone? Also, 6 clips at each side, what about the top and the bottom? I mean the ends, not the screen and the back lid. Also 6 clips each? |

If you look at the left side of the picture, at full size you can see where the "clips" are. The same for the top. They are spaced pretty evenly. Don't forget the tape. Luck; Ken PS; I just put a 16GB Class4 uSD in my backup AuraHD , no problems with the case. Last edited by Ken Maltby; 06-29-2013 at 10:58 PM. |

After opening it up, where can the internal Micro SD slot be found?

Thanks for the answers above. I'm asking about the Aura HD - the model referred to in the prefix for this thread. There is a photo linked in msg#17 showing how the Aura HD looks like once it is opened up:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/att...2&d=1367520084 I cannot see the internal slot anywhere on that photo - must the screen be taken off to reveal the slot? I am not very adventurous, I'd only managed to swap in SD card with larger capacity into my Mini after having seen every step of it being done, so I'm hoping that something similar are available for the Aura HD. |

I have done the procedure to two Kobo Mini's, and as you know, that is reasonably risk free, due to the screws. I have also done it to two Kobo Glo's, which are much harder to get into. I was very careful with the first one, and even more careful with the second one, but both of them now have sliders that do not work. (I use the magnetic case to wake/sleep them). I would not DARE to try this on the Aura HD. I can't afford to replace it, should I mess it up. It's not a chance I am willing to take. Just put in a 32 gb SD card. It goes nice and flush in the Aura HD and I can't see needing more space than that. |

Your mileage may very ... I have upgraded two AuraHDs and both function fine without any problem with the power switches. My oldest one, after having opened and closed it over ten times, had enough of the "clips" damaged that I had to grip the edge for some spots on the screen to be recognized by the touchscreen. I later added a hatch on the back so that I could easily extract the internal uSD card. (In adding a Bluetooth adapter to that older one I had to use a heatgun to expand the back of the case to allow room for everything. As a side effect of that the case fits tight enough that there is no issue with the touchscreen anymore.) Both are working fine.
There is always some risk, but it is more that a mistake on the part of the one making the modification occurs, rather than that the process itself is risky. If you doubt your ability to make a mod, you should not try it. Luck; Ken |

Thanks for the advice from both of yous. I gather that I will just stick with the original config unless one day it opens up itself!! I worry about the clips too as I had broken many clips on many external hard drives and ended up having to buy replacement cases.
