I have really taken a liking to the bulbs that are close in temperature to the natural outside light. I am slowly replacing ALL The lights in my house that way.

You don't actually need reviews. The lamps are good. If you get one that takes a bulb, you get to choose if you want CFL or LED.

I have one of their LED lamps clipped to my headboard and I use it to read in bed sometimes. Works very well and the light shines directly on the screen.

The table lamp I have in the living room I changed the bulb to give it a little bit more light and it's now perfect for where it is.

It's a matter of do you like the look of the lamp? Is it the right size? Does it use the type of bulb I want to use?

If all of those are a yes, go for it. You won't regret it. Ikea's lamps are good. we have three different styles of Ikea lamps. A clip-on LED lamp, a table lamp and a floor lamp. All are very nice. No review was needed.

VydorScope, what sort of bulbs are you using? They sound interesting.

Jon, thanks for the Ikea recommendation. I might find a store in or near B'ham and pop in to look at the lamps.

There is a store in Birmingham (Wednesbury). You might find other things there you like. I can highly recommend their bag clips for keeping food bags closed.

They come in lots of styles. Look for bulbs to be around the color temperature of 5780K. Sometimes called "daylight bulbs." I think the ones I have now are 6500K and made by Sylvinia. It is amazing how much nicer the light is from them. It really looks like day time in my house, at midnight. Everything has much truer colors and it is apparent that "normal" bulbs have a clearly strong color cast to them in comparison.

When choosing a lamp, avoid this one or you'll never get anything done.

Wonderful! I want a pet lamp! ....er....I've got 6 cats who already do this. But they don't light up! ... maybe if I plugged them in...no, cats refuse to be useful.

Jon, unfortunately, Wednesbury is in the Black Country and quite a distance from Birmingham. It wouldn't be worth the journey.

Vincent, are those incandescent, led, or cfl bulbs which you're using?

I have seen them in several styles (CFC, Florescent, etc), its the color temperature that makes the difference. You need to get one that is "normal" and one that is "daylight" go in a dark room and turn them on. The difference is extremely apparent.

Ummm... Anglepoise do LED versions of their lamps. Although I admit that at £200 the Type 75 LED model is a touch expensive.

It works well for sure. No wastage of money in my opinion
