I've read 0. Of course there have been lines in books that I've chuckled at but I find that not many books (or much in life, really) match my sense of humor; certainly not enough to sustain a whole novel. I can appreciate a more light-hearted read but truly laugh out loud ''funny'' is unlikely.

I have read a grand total of 0! I guess I don't read for fun, but maybe I should start. I saw the movie One for the Money - does that count?

1 I read. 1.
And that was Don Quixote. Ofc, I am from Europe, so we don't read much of american literature there, or British for that matter (with exception for some classics). French, German and Russian literature are more prevalent. (at least in my part of Europe, to avoid any rage happy people here). If anything, we read more of Latin America authors like Borges, Coelho, or Gabriel García Márquez. Don Quixote, I have read in high school and while it gave me a few chuckles it's not a funny novel IMNSHO. It's quite melancholic. I don't quite like to ready comedy, but the funniest book I read was american. ("Shit my dad says"). It was really better than some sitcoms or comedy shows. And it's not even on this list. Ofc, I am not sure if it counts as a novel in the first place. But whatever it is, its a book that will have you laughing few pages in. And I don't mean just a few chuckles here and there. Pure hardy laugh is more like it. |
