Well, this is the *old* method: It says that the conditions under which the external card is used for booting are changed from old style (first line, pushing and sliding etc) to new style (second line, just flip it in).

I will do more experiments, and maybe ask ;-)

Note that, in order to have the OS to run from the SD, you need to change the various references to /dev/mmcblk0 to /dev/mmcblk1 in scripts and configs, and fix any references to /dev/mmcblk1 (i.e. I guess that you should remove the part that auto mounts /dev/mmcblk01 to /mnt/sd).
I don't think that this should prevent booting, but you would probably end up running from the internal SD...
