Mine keeps the sizes. I use Calibre to 'safely remove the device', instead of windows, from the device tab. Have you tried using that instead of windows... It should maintain the sizes as far as I can figure out. If it doesn't, try posting in the calibre library subforum which deals with library issues. It might be better served there. I find most times on the forums that it is best to choose a subforum if your issue relates to one of their headers better, and it's best to start a new issue in a new thread instead of continuing on an old one, because, the header doesn't then match the 2nd or 3rd question, which won't pique curiosity to find out what's the problem.

I tried using Calibre to eject the device and it didn't make a difference. Every time I plug it back in I have to resize the columns. I think I'm just going to scrap Calibre. It's been an interesting experiment but since it won't even read what's already on the device, even though the latest update claims it should, it's really useless to me.

There is a view manager plugin that might do it. Also closing calibre by alt-F4 seems to keep the settings better.
calibre aways seems to read what is on my devices, but none of them is a nook. Posting a message in the calibre device forum with a title indicative of the actual problem might get you much better results. The developers are very helpful generally even to the slightly hostile Helen |

What about the overtly hostile, though it seems strange to bring a mention of hostility into a discussion. <eyeroll>

Defensive about software? How...curious. I guess I missed the part about opinions not welcome when I signed up for this forum. At least software is logical whereas humans are not.

I do sincerely apologise for offending you, and my only excuse is that I find calibre extremely useful and feel that it should not be dismissed in a cavalier manner. But it is entirely your choice whether you use it or not and abuse it or notI should have just ignored your post. Mea culpa. Helen |
