Title changes not working

Your mobi files are probably joint mobi 6/KF8 files, for which metadata updating is not supported. Either convert them to azw3 or plain mobi, check under MOBI Output in the conversion dialog for mobi type and make sure it is "old". Convert and send to your Kindle.

And if you are resending previously sent files, delete the original from your Kindle, unplug the Kindle, let it realize the files have been deleted, reconnect and then send.

I had the same problem in the past. Someone recommended that I first "Save to Disk" and then manually transferring that book to Kindle rather than having Calibre do it. It worked for me. Don't know why. This was for an earlier version of Kindle, but it may still apply.
