Note that you have to press it in with you nail since it does not stick until the card is 1-2 mm below the top.
I suppose you can just hold it inserted with your hand or put some tape to hold it if you only need it to update firmware. |

Yes--sometimes you have to press it really hard until you feel a click. It takes a try or two sometimes. Not forcing it, but it's just hard to get the card in deep enough to catch with your finger. I use the edge of a pen or a coin sometimes, set perpendicular to the card.
Same thing getting it out--I always need to use a coin to push it in to release the catch. |

SUSGOD, maybe if you tell them it NEVER worked, they will replace it. It seems wrong to me that they wouldn't.

Still, I urge you to get the RMA number as soon as possible because it will take a while after shipping before they repair and ship back or replace and ship back. Derek |

I live in New Jersey and purchased my CyBook from NAEB, I sent e-mails to you and to Jim. When I received the Cybook two weeks ago, my computer did not recognize the CyBook or the sd slot and I could not put the SD card in the Cybook. I purchased another SD card and had the same problem. I have a separate card reader that would not load either card. The card reader wanted to format them but was not able to do this. I loaded books directly on the the Cybook and went to Arizona for a week. I was able to arrange to have both cards loaded by a friend. His computer had no trouble. Since there really was nothing wrong with the cards, the problem must be with recognition by my computer. When I returned from Arizona, I tried to put the loaded SD cards in my CyBook, but they will not stay in. Whatever holds them in does not catch. I e-mailed Jim, you, and Bookeen. I did explain to Bookeen that the card never worked. Jim said he would forward my e-mail to you. Bookeen replied the very next day informing me that "Broken parts are not covered by the warranty; if you wish, we can handle a repair. This operation costs 70 euros plus shipping". They gave me a "Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) procedure", but did not supply an authorization number. Last edited by SUSGOD; 03-08-2008 at 12:33 PM. Reason: correct spelling |

![]() The RMA process *should* have included a number. Email them again and make sure you let them know that you didn't get an RMA number. It should be a string of something like RMA-customername-MMDDYYYY-xxxx. As for the card reader not formatting the SD card, perhaps it's not being recognized by the computer in the USB port you chose. Please try another. Derek |
