Calibre for Mac not downloading metadata and freezing - Page 2

Yes it seems all that will do is change the proxy settings for all applications (same as setting it through the system settings). Oh well - will just have to change them manually when I want to use Calibre.

Thanks everyone for your help! It works beautifully again, and doesn't freeze when I try to install plugins (I guess it connects to the internet when I try to do that? Didn't realize).

elligator - With Applescript someone should be able create a At Work/At Home button you can put on your desktop or use via a keyboard shortcut.

Funny enough, I just got to my office and found out my system administrator was wrong - I don't even need to put the proxy settings into the system settings. Setting the proxy up in my browser alone works just fine. Oh well, now I know! Thanks for letting me know about that anyway - maybe it'll be useful in the future!
