I guess there's also Amazon, Calibre and MobileRead, but you know what I mean.

Something strange is happening. When attempting to download the ".zip" file it downloads as an .exe file, not a .zip file and -- I will not download an .exe file. The other link (via his Google Drive) is unavailable to due too many downloads. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Did you make sure to un-chech "use our downloader"?

The readme file inside the plugin folder says you should remove the older separate plugins after you install the new one.

"I will not download an .exe file"

Safer not to of course but a self loader is just a wrapper round a zip file and most unzip utilities can unzip it direct with no need to execute it.

In this case the exe is not a wrapper around a zip file. It is malware of some type - i.e., something completely unrelated to the file you want to download but which is pushed onto unsuspecting users. Best avoided.
