Troubleshooting Kindle 3 frozen display

Appreciate the advice, even if it's a few years later!
Just proves that the Kindle 3 Keyboard is a robust model that people prefer to use.
I ended up selling my unresponsive device on ebay, bought a second hand one and am still happily using it.

When my kindle had the problem, I searched for a solution, found this thread, read through this thread and all the other results I could find and I didn't find a solution anywhere.

Then I found the problem myself and made the youtube video about the fix for anyone else who might have the same thing.

I get nothing from the video (no ads, etc.). It looks like a lot of people just give up and get a new one when there is potentially a simple fix for at least some people who have the problem.

Sometimes pressing alt-r on the keyboard works when holding the on switch for 20 seconds doesn't. I don't know why, but it worked for me once when my Kindle 3 was frozen and I had tried many times to reset via on switch.
