Well, the frenzy seems to be settling down (for me at least). I'm down to one thread/bundle pending with 3-4 people ahead of me.

I just nabbed up the Vorkosigan Saga omnibuses I didn't have. Most were $5; a few were $6. A great deal either way.

Prices will range from $6.99-$9.99 after the changeover.
$6.99 for titles whose print version is available in mass market paperback
$8.99 for titles whose print version is available in trade paperback
$9.99 for titles whose print version is available in hardcover

I still have a couple more things to buy once I sort out what I really want, including probably two or three more bundles.

And that includes skipping some stuff I was thinking of getting earlier once I had the time to read the samples and decide that spending roughly $9 after my few remaining Planet Baen discount coupons for what effectively amounted to only 1 book out of 6 which I was mildly curious about and could probably pick up in the used bookshop for $4 or so during holiday sales if I really wanted to was heading into deeply diminishing returns territory.

I've never been all that interested in Baen's frontlist in recent years and it was a stretch for me to find stuff in the first place in their monthly bundles. I always bought the reprints and other-publisher stuff. Out of all the Webscription gifts via MR, I've probably read about 4 titles which I got "free" which I hadn't previously already read via the library/owned it myself. And roughly the same for the Free Library, as well.

And I think I've spent over $100 on them in the past couple of days alone.

I have one or two where I only needed one title - I'll be double checking tonight and probably use coupons to pick up those singles (since the coupons won't buy a book, after today, apparently). If they aren't that great, oh well - they are free.

You guys have certainly gone nuts here. Had everything I wanted pretty much anyway - or on the CDs.

My bundle theory was always if interested in 3 books, get it. A little bit extra for books I might/might not read is fine. Same went for Night Shade when their bundles were cheaper than the books, not the same. Otherwise,buy them singly.

Unfortunately, it's rare that I'm interested in even 1 book in a typical Baen month of recent years. But I have been regularly buying the single-author reprint bundles and the other publishers' stuff, which I hope makes up for getting all those "freebies" I'm not reading.
