Do you have any empirical support for this statement? I have seen observations that support that it is the other way around. Books that are scanned in book scanning groups seems to have more man hour used for correcting scanning errors than commercial books.

I have seen a lot of example given here about commercial ebooks of extremely poor quality.

Why don't you just start in on the eBook experience by installing MS-Reader and/or Mobipocket?

Then, get .lit (for MS Reader) or .prc or .html or .txt (for Mobipocket) eBooks and read them on the Dash.

That's the cheapest way to get started
And: no crease or fold to spoil your experience
