Can someone tell me if the Sony app only handles books bought from Sony? I have many non DRM epubs and would like to settle on just one app. I am currently using Bluefire with no issues for Sony books and other non DRM epubs.

As far as I can tell, yes. It is tied to your library, so you can download anything there.

I haven't tried it with itunes, though - that might let you sideload any Adobe ADE epub (others do)

My library where? On the Sony web site or on my computer? If the first, then the answer to my question is no.

Yes the Sony reader will let you download and read non drm epubs. You can download them from Dropbox or email them to yourself. After the book downloads, a a window pops up saying "unable to view file" There will be a box with an arrow in the upper right hand corner. Press that and a drop down menu will show all of your apps that you can use to open the file. Select "Reader" and the book will open in the Sony Reader app.

That wasn't the question. The person was asking about the Sony app for iPhone/iGadgets.

It loads books from your library that you've bought from Sony. You can see your whole library and select which ones you want on your device. BUT! I just added a book I borrowed from the public library via iTunes. I connected my iPhone, click on the Phones Apps tab and select the Sony Reader app, click on Add & find the book your want from the files on your computer. I'm looking at the book on my phone right now!

Very cool. It looks like you can do the same for Kindle & Kobo too.

You'll have to do an online chat with them or call them. I went to the sony site because I kept getting an error message when I tried to open the app on my ipad. I online chatted with them and they had to reset my adobe (something about too many accounts with it - ?!). They also wanted to make sure my ipad calendar was set correctly. Anyway, they reset it and it works fine now.
You can only download books purchased at the Sony site. I asked about library books because they weren't showing up on the app and was told you couldn't open library books with the app.
I downloaded the overdrive app at the library (Phili) and now use this to read the library books; it works great.
