I had this last night.

My laptop will not recognise the device at all. Have tried the delete device but to no avail. Will try uninstall and reinstall tonight.

Installed the software on my desktop and it works fine.

Cheers,
Neil.

Ebook does not appear in Ereader software

Everything works as it should on my laptop. However, I cannot get a connection to my newer Desktop (both running XP). When I connect the Reader to the desktop, the USB connection shows up in Device Manager, but the Reader does not show up in the Ereader software. And, after connecting the reader, the USB ports lock up and the computer can not be shut down without being turned off manually.

I have tried every USB port - uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them - uninstalled eReader software, reinstalled it and updated it on Sony website.

Don't see this problem here, so I thought I would tack on to the last post. Thank you for any insight.
