Any chance you could get a hold of a Kindle 3 Keyboard? I use the TTS in the car travelling to and from work all the time on mine. I prefer the male voice over the female one.

The Kindle Touch also has TTS if I remember right.

I would only buy a Kindle if I could get one really cheaply. They're not my first choice of ereader, though I do like the text-to-speech ability, which I don't think the newer models have; please correct me if I'm wrong.

If I were in the market for a new reader right now, I'm not sure what I'd purchase. None seem as good as the 505. (Sorry if I'm treading on any toes )
