Thanks GeoffR! Sounds like this has more to do with a change in Dropbox than the Kobo or Kindle web browsers.

I can use Dropbox with my Kobo's but not my Kindle.

Will the Kobo ever get an email -> reader service? Has this ever been touch on?
I'm not sure what you mean by snippets but it doesn't sound like you're talking about uploading books via email. If that's the case then Kobo already has something far superior in Pocket. You don't need to bother with archaic email, just click "save to pocket" on your PC or smart phone browser and anything displayed on a browser (Web articles, newspaper articles, short stories, fan fic, etc will show up on your Pocket account on your Kobo reader.
On the other hand, being able to email books and having those books sync across reading devices is a big plus for the Kindle.

You can send books via email to a Kindle and you can also "Send to Kindle" (using a browser plugin) articles, short stories, etc. These "snippets" just show up in your library, like a book. This is one of my favorite features of the Kindles. (I haven't tried Pocket yet on my Kobo.)

If I'm not mistaken, things will only show up on your Kobo if Pocket considers them "articles". With my Kindle, I can send literally any web page to my Kindle using the SendToKindle add-on for Firefox, no email needed. I do this sometimes for forum discussions or blog posts that I want to read later. Can Pocket do that?

Pocket have a Firefox add-on that will do that. And yes, Pocket has to consider them to be articles before they will be synced to the Kobo device. If you find a page that it doesn't, tell Pocket. They will fix it if they can.
