I agree. The K3, especially the K3 3G without SO has a huge following of loyal owners and want to be owners. It should sell fast. Good luck!

Thank you everyone! It's look like it's staying in the family. I told hubby I was going to sell it. When he saw how serious after I took pictures he said I give you $69 for it so I don't have to go the post office and deal with the hassle. Of course I said DEAL! So I did a factory reset, put it on his account and loaded a few books on it for him. He is the totally opposite of me. He is a non fiction reader. The last fiction he read was Harry Potter which he loved but since then no luck getting him to read anything fiction. I need to get him using it. Any Ideas? Maybe features he might like to use? I'm a purely fiction reader myself. Oh I ordered the K4B tonight. The PW I will get later towards my birthday. |

I don't get why that should be a hassle. You pay postage on your side, end of story. Whatever happens on the receiver's side is their problem. You can advertise it for $100 (say) + S&H to be determined. There might be some person in Nepal or Bhutan who loves reading but can't afford a new Kindle including Amazon's exorbitant shipping costs. This is a unique opportunity for them, don't deny them the happiness of reading.

I always sell on eBay. I list at £1 and let it sell for whatever it goes for. In every case the reader has sold for much more than I anticipated. I've never had a problem with eBay, either as a buyer or a seller.

Wonder why they can't provide an adequate price quote? If I check our postal service's web site that is exactly what I will pay unless I haven't calculated the weight properly.

When I sold my last reader though plenty of non USA PMs came my way and I priced the shipping just to Canada was outrageous! Hubby said no way. Luckily a Florida buyer bought it for a young boy who was too poor to have one of his own.

The USPS is really poorly run and managed. They are running deep in the RED currently. They cannot seem to compete against the big carriers anymore. If you choose to ship internationally through FedEx or UPS you can be very competent that their price quote is accurate, however it will cost 2 or 3 times more, which is probably one of the many reasons why the USPS is losing money! Domestic shipping fees are about the same between the major carriers with the USPS usually the least expensive but only by a small percentage. I'm not sure why there is such a huge difference between USPS and the others on international shipping, but there is. Another thing to consider is that time is indeed valuable. To ship domestically via USPS you can go online and pay then print the shipping label. Then all you have to do is drop off the package or let the mail carrier pick it up. Fairly quick and easy. However, with international shipping you would be ill advised to do that. You have to go wait in line at the PO while one or two of the slowest, most easily distracted USPS workers take forever waiting on the two dozen or more customers who are in line before you. It can take an hour or more to mail something internationally. USPS PO employees are widely known for being sloths, and they never have enough lanes open to handle the number of customers. We joke that grass grow faster than PO employees move. I guess they have a good union! Any job I ever had that kind of slothfulness would have resulted in employment termination. I had no idea. I always thought USPS was a paragon of efficiency and customer service, personified by Newman on Seinfeld.

Yeah I am going to wait for the feedback then update it for him. I'm the tech of the family. If he had to do it... I leave the hooking up of the TV and players to him but anything PC he is lost and that's my job. Do you guys know if I hook up the Kindle to my account to put my games on it then put it back on his if they will work? I wish I could transfer them over to his account permanently. I have no interests in playing games on eInk. |
