Apparently they will, if it has the "slide-to-unlock" and the "rubber band thing." Given time, they'll get around to it.

I'm always excited to hear about new ereaders. I would love to find out they are introducing higher def, lighting, and more durable (flexible) screens. Even better, fix the software problems related to Manage Your Kindle, and give a face-lift to existing Kindle software.

Kindles are my favorite toys. I expect to order the new Kindle Fire and the new Paperwhite Kindle as well unless they are a huge disappointment which is not likely.

These toys only last one year so getting rid of the old ones could be a problem. My "old" Sony PRS 900 (2 years old) is totally rejected by everyone I offer it to. I may donate all the old ones to my public library so poor folks can share the technology.

Please, if there's anyone reading this who has a shred of mercy in their heart, come to Tidewater tomorrow and hide my wallet, check book, and disable my Internet connection. Above all, for mercy's sake, don't let me anywhere near Amazon's "Buy" button. Not only do I not need another reader or tablet, the purchase of one now would play havoc with my budget. There's absolutely no reason for me to buy another Kindle now, even if it has a new glorious Paperwhite frontlit screen that's ideal for reading in all lighting conditions. No reason at all. Oh, geeze, I'm so weak. Somebody help me. No, no, no, no! I will not buy.

My current third generation kindle is doing great so I do not really have a motivation to upgrade. That said if amazon will sweeten the deal by giving ame a significant discount in exchange for my current reader it might be possible. However the current offerings for the older generations of kindles are two low. As a moatter of policy I upgrade and replace computers once every four years to take advantage of the new technology, since my reader was bought june of 2011 I would not be looking for new technology until June of 2015. For now the reader I have is sufficent for my needs.

I have absolutely no reason to get this new Kindle, I have the NT which I purchased about a year ago, works perfectly. This means i'll probably buy the new one and justify it to my wife somehow.

Obvious shots of the new Kindle tablet and ereader although they weren't mentioned.

Shocked this hasn't been reported on Engadget yet.
