The site is down again, but this time he's left a message saying he's working on it.

It's back up now, though I don't yet know what the problem was.

Hey folks -- sorry for the downtime; Dennis is right, it was a combination of technical issues and real-life intrusion. The technical side consisted of a dying hard drive, bad-timing, and an OS upgrade that horked some of the conversion software. The good news is the backups all worked, the replacement hardware wasn't too expensive, and Kovid Goyal's calibre was able to step in and take over from the messed up convertor app.

Thanks to everyone who wrote in!

Thumbs up Site updates

Manybooks has added (unless I just didn't see this before) book covers to view, which is great when you're trying to decide on a book to read.

Yep. Matt has been tweaking the design, and it's nice indeed.

I think part of it is a result of a move to an actual hosing facility. Once upon a time, ManyBooks lived on a Mac Pro at the owner's home, at the other end of
a DSL line. He had to use minimal design to conserve bandwidth. Once he moved to a hosting facility, those concerns eased.

From their about page, ManyBooks runs on a Mac Mini at http://macminicolo.net, and from what I remember, that's the way they have been for at least a few months, probably longer. I would feel very guilty about hitting a Mac Pro over DSL to get books into Inkmesh
