My 5 and 7 year olds have both had experience of several kids IDEs.

The 7 year old has reactively constructed a basic function orally based on oral argument input from me.

Ie. "Please construct a function to calculate you and your brothers age."

"My age = x, my brothers age = y, result = x plus y"

I love long car journeys and I don't really like I-spy. Good luck.

I watched a few of the Roblox videos.
They make programming look like fun.

Since the underlying scripting language is Lua, he will probably be back with patches to kPDF within 8 months.

Unless he gets lost in WofW - which is also scripted in Lua.

@techiemonkey: ok, that explains a few things. Thanks for being honest.

I don't really have a lot more things to say, except:

- do what you're interested in. This may, or may not, be computer science. If it is, then all paths are open to you (including a degree in a couple of years from now, and maybe even a scientific career - who knows? It's up to you to decide).
- seriously, work on your grammar. Your spelling is correct, but your grammar isn't. Just get used to using correct punctuation (".!?") after every sentence, use spaces after every punctuation mark (including commas), and use capital letters at the beginning of every sentence. It will make your sentences more understandable, and yes - it will tremendously simplify your future life if you follow these standards.

OT: ... am I the only one who feels terribly old and smart-alecky now?

And minecraft and Golvellius 3D and Havok Script and... ; )

I started mine simple variable assignment equally recognition.
Blocks = Red makes the blocks red! Blocks{Block_1, Block_2} Makes two blocks!

Then with Kodu Game lab, then some WPF (guided learning), then some in game IDE's, then some basic, then some pseudo exercises, then some XNA (guided learning), then some simple scripting...

They love it. Currently discovering how to minecraft world is generated.
Gotta love them pesky kidders.

It is possible to problem solve though, Joking. It's good to know I'm not the youngest one here.
